Membership
New members are always very welcome, whether or not they are able to attend our monthly meetings.
Why not join? All members receive the Society’s magazine, The Herald (several times a year) and can attend all our indoor speaker meetings, outside visits and walks free of charge.
You will also have easy access to the Society’s enormous fund of local knowledge through its greatest asset — the other members! We have a very wide range of interests from personal genealogy to industrial, military, women’s, social and transport history as well as general local topics.
Whatever brings you to local history, there is almost certain to be someone else in the Society with knowledge which will help you (we cannot undertake genealogical research on your behalf, but might be able to point you in the right direction).
All this for a small annual subscription: for an individual this is just £12.00; for a couple living at the same address the subscription is only £18.00.
You can join the Society by contacting our membership secretary at the following address:

We look forward to welcoming you!
